The Delhi High Court held that government employees who have already received higher grade pay through promotion or upgradation are not eligible for benefits under the Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) Scheme.
A Division Bench of Justices Navin Chawla and Madhu Jain observed that the scheme is meant for employees who have not received any financial upgradation within the stipulated time.
The Court dismissed the employees’ plea, holding that granting MACP despite prior upgradation would defeat the purpose of the scheme.
