Delhi High Court on Amrit Wilson’s OCI Cancellation: “Cannot Allow India To Be Maligned Globally”

The Delhi High Court observed that India cannot be allowed to be maligned on international platforms while hearing UK-based academic Amrit Wilson’s challenge to the cancellation of her Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card.

Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav examined a sealed cover report submitted by the Central government, which referred to Intelligence Bureau inputs alleging Wilson’s involvement in anti-India activities.

The Court noted that the allegations went beyond two tweets and included participation in activities considered detrimental to India’s sovereignty.

The Court has directed both sides to file written submissions. The matter will next be heard on August 27.
