Delhi High Court Orders Fresh Charges Against Passenger Who Threatened Crew on Air India Flight

The Delhi High Court has ordered the trial court to frame fresh charges against a man who has been accused of showing abusive and threatening behaviour on board an Air India flight.

The man refused to take his seat, threatened the crew members, damaged airline property and attempted to open the aircraft door, mid-flight, after announcing that he was ready for "shahadat" and would take everyone down with him in doing so.

The Court held that the trial court should have deferred the consideration of charges till the supplementary chargesheet was filed.
