Delhi High Court Orders Removal of Deepfake YouTube Channel Impersonating Anjana Om Kashyap

The Delhi High Court ordered Google LLC to take down a YouTube channel using deepfake videos, news clippings, and photographs to impersonate Aaj Tak anchor Anjana Om Kashyap. 

Justice Prathiba M. Singh found that the channel exploited Kashyap’s image and the channel’s brand for commercial gain, risking misinformation and deceiving viewers. 

The court ordered Google to share the channel operator's details within two weeks and provide revenue data within four weeks.

The court also ordered Google to promptly remove any false profiles identified by the plaintiff. This matter is scheduled for further hearing on August 11.
