After the Delhi High Court’s intervention, Delhi Police granted an arms licence to judicial officer Ravi Dahiya, a former special NIA judge who cited life threats due to his past sensitive postings, particularly in Tripura.
Though Dahiya applied in November 2023 and appeared for a personal hearing in August 2024, the authority neither approved nor rejected his request until the High Court stepped in.
On May 30, Justice Sachin Datta ordered a decision within four weeks. Dahiya received the licence on June 25.
He had been living in Delhi without any security despite his high-risk background.
