Delhi High Court Says Rajpal Yadav Jailed for Not Honouring Court Commitment

The Delhi High Court said that Rajpal Yadav is in jail because he failed to honour the commitment he made before the Court in a cheque bounce case.

The case relates to his conviction in a cheque bounce matter, where his sentence was suspended after he assured the Court that he would pay the dues to the complainant as part of a settlement.

The Court noted that Yadav appeared many times and repeated his promise to make payment, but did not comply.

It observed that the direction to surrender was passed only after he failed to honour his assurances. The Court will hear his bail application on February 16 and has sought the complainant’s reply.
