The Delhi High Court has asked the Central Government and WhatsApp to respond to a petition filed by advocate Reepak Kansal, challenging the suspension of his WhatsApp account.
The petitioner argued that the suspension was arbitrary and carried out without any prior notice, a show-cause opportunity, or access to recover his data, and claimed that the action disrupted his professional communication and case preparation.
The Court issued notice to both parties, directing them to explain the legal basis and procedure for such account restrictions. The matter will be heard next on December 18.
