The Delhi High Court has sought the Central Government’s response on how it intends to address challenges arising from DeepSeek AI and other similar artificial intelligence platforms.
A Division Bench posed the query to Central Government Standing Counsel (CGSC) Ishkaran Bhandari, calling for clarity on proposed regulatory frameworks, data protection measures, and compliance mechanisms for AI systems operating in India.
The Court noted increasing judicial concern over the absence of effective oversight for emerging AI technologies. The petitioner, in her plea, urged the government to frame guidelines to restrict access to such platforms.
The matter, earlier discussed in February, was listed for further consideration.
