The Delhi High Court has issued a permanent injunction in favor of the India Today Group against Telegram channels that illegally uploaded its e-magazines, violating copyright and trademarks
The court upheld India Today’s exclusive rights over publications like India Today, Business Today, and Reader’s Digest.
Telegram assured the court it had deleted the infringing channels and would continue removing similar ones. Since the defendants did not respond, the court ruled in favor of India Today, permanently restraining these channels from further dissemination and trademark infringement.
Telegram has faced similar cases in the Delhi High Court regarding copyright infringement, including cases involving the "Times of India" and "Navbharat Times" e-papers, and study material from Apna College.
