The Delhi High Court has directed better coordination between school boards and counselling bodies to prevent deserving students from missing admissions due to delayed Class XII results.
Hearing pleas from students who cleared JEE (Mains) but couldn’t register for Delhi Technical University counselling as their NIOS results weren’t out, Justice Vikas Mahajan said such students must not suffer.
The Court directed NIOS to declare results by June 17 and ordered the Joint Admission Council (JAC) to allow registration on June 19.
The Court also told JAC to accept registrations even if results are pending and said that hard-working students can’t be penalized for systemic delays. Next hearing is on July 7.
