Delhi High Court to Appoint Amici Curiae Following Arvind Kejriwal’s Boycott of Bench

The Delhi High Court will appoint three Senior Advocates as amici curiae to assist in the CBI’s challenge against the discharge of Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders in the Excise Policy case.

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma passed this direction after Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Durgesh Pathak decided to boycott the proceedings following the rejection of their recusal applications.

The judge previously ruled that such recusal demands amounted to putting the judiciary on trial.

The amici will provide independent assistance starting Friday to ensure the revision plea, challenging the trial court's February discharge order, proceeds despite the absence of the accused's counsel.
