Delhi High Court to hear BJP leader Dushyant Gautam’s plea over 'VIP link' allegations in 2022 murder case

The Delhi High Court is set to hear a defamation petition filed by BJP national general secretary Dushyant Gautam, after allegations labelled him as the “VIP” linked to the Ankita Bhandari murder case.

Gautam claims that actress Urmila Sanawar’s X posts and a purported call recording with former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore falsely associated him with the 2022 murder.

He states that the Opposition, including Congress and AAP, amplified the claim and that the content continues circulating online without correction, withdrawal, or apology.

He seeks ₹2 crore damages and has filed police complaints under Sections 66E and 66D of IT Act and defamation under BNS against Rathore, Sanawar, Congress, AAP, and X account holders.
