Delhi HC Upholds CISF Candidate's Disqualification Over Tattoo

  • Case Name: Gedela Chandra Sekhara Rao v Union Of India

The Delhi High Court dismissed a writ petition challenging the disqualification of a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) candidate for an ASI (Executive) post under the LDCE due to a tattoo on the outer left forearm, violating CISF rules.

A bench of Justice Navin Chawla and Justice Shalinder Kaur upheld the review medical board’s decision, emphasizing that the petitioner, an Armed Forces member, knowingly disregarded the tattoo prohibition.

Special Public Counsel Vatsal Joshi highlighted that the 2021 guidelines permit tattoos only on the inner forearm, further solidifying the petitioner’s ineligibility.
