The Delhi High Court has refused to interfere with the termination of a Delhi University professor who sought illegal gratification from students for marks and attendance.
The bench of Justice Jasmeet Singh held that the professor was given a fair hearing and that evidence was thoroughly scrutinised by the Appeals Committee.
The misconduct is described as a grave breach of academic integrity. The court noted that the professor admitted to the recorded conversation and failed to prove tampering.
The petition to modify the dismissal was quashed.
