Delhi High Court appoints Justice Rajiv Shakdher as Arbitrator in Playboy Bar & Grand Hotel

The Delhi HC has appointed Justice Rajiv Shakdher as the sole arbitrator in the commercial dispute between Playboy Bar (Night Beat Hospitality) and Lounge in the Grand Hotel (Unison Hotels).

The dispute concerns a June 2022 licensing agreement for operating the bar within the hotel. 

The Court ordered the arbitration under the Delhi International Arbitration Centre rules, and both parties were directed to promptly fix hearing dates for expeditious resolution.

The case involves cross-petitions where Unison Hotels claims the license term ended in June 2025 and  Night Beat contends the license is extendable and denies any breach.
