Delhi High Court Grants Relief to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s Daughter Over Defamatory Posts

The Delhi High Court decreed in favour of IRPS officer Anjali Birla, daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, confirming an earlier interim order directing the removal of defamatory social media posts alleging she cleared the UPSC exam on her first attempt due to her father's influence.

The posts, deemed part of a pre-planned conspiracy, falsely claimed she is an IAS officer and a model.

Birla, who cleared the UPSC in 2019 and joined the Indian Railway Personnel Service in 2021, filed the suit against 16 X accounts, including a parody account of Dhruv Rathee.

X and Google complied with the takedown, and the Court allowed Birla to flag any future similar content for removal.
