The Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) has objected to the Full Court’s decision requiring every Bench of the High Court to function one Saturday each month in 2025.
In a letter addressed to Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, the DHCBA stated that the Bar was not consulted before the decision and expressed concern that staggered working Saturdays would compel advocates to remain available throughout the month, disrupting personal schedules and rest days.
Urging reconsideration, the Association requested that the order be kept in abeyance or that a single uniform working Saturday be fixed for all Benches to preserve predictability and work-life balance for lawyers.
