Delhi High Court Bars Sale of Bacca Bucci Shoes Over Alleged Copying of Skechers Design

The Delhi High Court restrained footwear brand Bacca Bucci from manufacturing, selling, advertising, or distributing shoes allegedly copying Skechers’ registered “Go Walk 5” design.

Hearing a design infringement suit filed by Skechers USA and its affiliates, the Court observed that the disputed shoe designs appeared “nearly identical/deceptively similar” and were likely to mislead consumers.

Justice Tushar Rao Gedela granted an ex parte interim injunction and appointed local commissioners to inspect premises in Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida, seize infringing products, and examine business records.

The Court also directed Bacca Bucci to disclose supply chain details, profits earned, and recall the disputed products from the market.
