Delhi High Court called for uniform standard of hygiene and functionality

The PWD and GNCTD were asked to commence constructing and repairing male, female, and handicapped washrooms across the District Courts in Delhi.

The order followed the report of the court commissioner appointed pursuant to the petition filed by a woman lawyer highlighting the unhygienic conditions of female washrooms in the Lawyers’ Chambers Block at Saket Court.

The court noted the negligence in maintaining these facilities. Principal District and Sessions Judges of all District Courts have been asked to identify remedial measures and ensure their implementation and also to submit a status report on progress made on the next date.
