The Delhi High Court ruled that family courts can direct disclosure of mobile location and call detail records (CDRs) to examine adultery allegations in matrimonial disputes.
A bench of Justices Anil Kshetarpal and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar held that such data, limited to a defined period and kept confidential, can serve as corroborative evidence.
The Court clarified that family courts are not bound by strict evidence rules and may summon material to ascertain the truth.
