Delhi High Court Declines Red Fort Blast Accused’s Plea For Counsel-Meeting

The Delhi High Court declined a plea filed by an accused in the Red Fort blast case seeking permission to meet counsel at the National Investigation Agency headquarters.

The case arose from an NIA investigation into an alleged conspiracy involving a suicide bomber and multiple persons accused of providing support for the 2000 attack that caused fifteen deaths.

The High Court observed that the applicant had not produced any trial court order refusing such a request and held that a separate mechanism could not be created solely for him.

The matter was remitted to the trial court to consider the request in accordance with the law.
