Delhi High Court Denies Bail in 2018 Minor Rape-Murder Case Citing Strong Forensic and Medical Evidence

The Delhi High Court denied bail to a man accused of raping and murdering a minor girl in 2018, citing strong prima facie evidence.

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma highlighted clear medical evidence from the post-mortem report showing violent and repeated sexual abuse.

The Court noted a tight evidentiary chain including CCTV footage of the accused near the body disposal site, expert forensic analysis linking poly bags found at his house to those used at the crime scene, and witness statements.

The accused allegedly lured the victim under the pretence of tuition, administered sedatives, sexually assaulted, murdered her by smothering, and disposed of her body. The Court directed the trial court to expedite the recording.
