Delhi High Court Declines Interim Injunction Against Xiaomi in Patent Dispute

The Delhi High Court has refused to grant an interim injunction against Xiaomi in a patent infringement suit concerning its “Find Device” technology, which helps users to locate, lock or erase data from their lost or stolen devices.

Conqueror Innovations Pvt Ltd alleged that Xiaomi’s technology infringes its patented technology “Communication Device Finder System". 

Justice Amit Bansal observed that the plaintiff failed to demonstrate how Xiaomi’s feature contained essential elements of the suit patent. The court noted fundamental flaws in the claim mapping and highlighted the delay in filing the suit.

While dismissing the interim relief, it directed Xiaomi to maintain detailed accounts of sales and production, ensuring potential compensation if the plaintiff succeeds at final adjudication.
