Delhi High Court Directs Google and Apple to Curb Apps Promoting Pornography and Crime

The Delhi High Court directed Google and Apple to take strict action against applications promoting pornography, obscenity, and criminal activities on their platforms.

The Court observed that unchecked circulation of such content could adversely affect society and remarked that it “cannot allow ruin of a whole generation.”

It stated that both companies are obligated to scrutinise applications before permitting them on the Play Store and App Store.

The directions were issued while hearing a matter concerning allegedly objectionable and harmful online content accessible through mobile applications.
