The Delhi High Court rejected Junior Engineer Vijender Kumar’s challenge to disciplinary proceedings for allegedly stealing a ticket office machine and running an illegal smart card recharge operation, causing DMRC a Rs 28 lakh loss.
The Division Bench found his attempts to delay the process baseless and denied his requests for legal representation and stay pending criminal trial.
The court upheld Rule 42(6) of DMRC Rules, imposed a Rs 25,000 cost on Kumar, to be deposited in the National Defence Fund within four weeks.
