Delhi HC Quashes FIR in Neighbourhood Dispute, Directs Accused to Host Feasts for Poor Children

The Delhi High Court has quashed an FIR against a couple accused of causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon and criminal intimidation, directing them instead to serve the community.

The Court ordered the couple to organise a bhandara for at least 50 underprivileged children once during Navratri and once during Diwali, and to submit a report with photographs.

While dismissing the FIR, the Court stated that since the accused have taken up the task of social service, the present proceedings are of no use and shall be nothing but an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer.
