The Delhi High Court fined Amazon ₹340 crore ($39 million) for infringing the ‘Beverly Hills Polo Club’ trademark.
Lifestyle Equities CV sued Amazon in 2020, claiming it was manufacturing and selling products under the "Symbol" brand with an infringing logo. The Delhi High Court had earlier ordered Amazon to remove these products.
Cloudtail India, a seller on Amazon, was also involved and failed to resolve the issue through mediation.
The court ruled in favor of Lifestyle Equities, ordering Cloudtail to pay ₹4,78,484 in damages, based on 20% of revenue from the infringing sales.
