Delhi High Court Blocks Fake Websites Misusing Tata’s Ginger Hotels Trademark

The Delhi High Court has issued a permanent injunction against fraudulent websites misusing Tata Group’s Ginger Hotels trademark.

Justice Mini Pushkarna ruled that the defendants operated fake websites such as 'gingerhotelmumbai.info' and 'hotelgingermumbai.info' for deceiving customers into believing they were booking with Ginger Hotels.

The court found their actions deliberate, causing confusion and financial fraud.

The defendants unauthorizedly used Ginger Hotels' trademarks, content, and images, leading to a ₹20 lakh cost imposed on them, payable to Indian Hotels Company Limited.

Earlier, in December 2023, the court granted an ex parte injunction to suspend the fake websites and freeze related bank accounts.
