Delhi High Court Grants Bail to Gym Trainer Accused of Rape, Says Morality Separate from Criminal Offence

The Delhi High Court granted bail to a married gym trainer accused of raping an advocate, observing that issues of personal morality must be distinguished from the ingredients of a criminal offence.

The Court noted that photographs and videos produced by the accused prima facie indicated a consensual relationship between the parties.

While clarifying that the observations were limited to the bail stage, the Court held that continued custody was not warranted in the facts of the case.

Accordingly, the accused was granted bail subject to conditions imposed by the Court.
