The Delhi High Court has granted regular bail to social media influencer Sandeepa Virk in a money laundering case linked to alleged cheating of nearly ₹6 crore on the pretext of offering a film role.
The Bench noted that proceedings under the PMLA were initiated almost a decade after the alleged transactions, making continued incarceration unjustified.
The case arose from a 2016 FIR under IPC Sections 406 and 420.
The Bench also took into account that Virk was not charge-sheeted in the predicate offence and that a substantial part of the amount had already been refunded to the complainant.
