The Delhi High Court has granted bail to Neelam Azad and Mahesh Kumawat, accused in the 2023 Parliament security breach case, on a ₹50,000 surety bond.
The Court imposed strict conditions, including a media gag, restricted travel outside Delhi, and mandatory appearances before the investigating agency thrice a week.
The case involves protestors who released smoke canisters inside the Lok Sabha chamber during a session. The High Court was hearing appeals against the Special NIA Court’s earlier bail denial.
Azad claimed the act was a protest against unemployment, not part of any terror conspiracy.
