Delhi HC Grants Interim Injunction to Vinaj Maheshwari in Defamation Case

Vinay Maheshwari, a senior media professional, sued Telugu actor Manoj Manchu for defamation, alleging that he posted unsubstantiated tweets accusing him of financial misconduct and personal interference, which were amplified by media articles and videos.

Maheshwari claimed the defamatory statements, unsupported by evidence, damaged his reputation and created a harmful narrative.

The Court found the statements prima facie defamatory, highlighting the lasting impact of digital defamation.

The Court issued an ex-parte interim injunction, directing the removal of tweets, articles, and videos by Manchu, media houses, and digital platforms.

It also restrained further defamatory posts and listed the case for hearing on February 17, 2025.
