Delhi High Court Blocks Sale of Counterfeit ‘Ghar Soaps’ on E-Commerce Platforms

The Delhi High Court granted an interim injunction in favour of YMI Ghar Soaps Pvt. Ltd. against unknown defendants selling counterfeit skincare products using deceptively similar marks and packaging.

The Court observed that “Ghar Soaps” had acquired substantial goodwill and that infringing entities were riding on its reputation by using names like “Ghor Soap” and “Hamare Ghar Ka Soap.”

The Court directed e-commerce platforms, including Amazon and Flipkart, to block or suspend infringing listings and restrained defendants from copying the brand’s trademarks, packaging, or copyrighted works.

The matter will be heard next on November 25.
