Delhi High Court Bars Franchise India from Using ‘Rasna’ Trademarks Over a Suit Filed by Piruz Khambatta

The Delhi High Court has restrained Franchise India Brands Ltd. and Ichakdana Food Services LLP from using the trademarks ‘Rasna’ and ‘Rasna Buzz’.

The order followed a suit by Piruz Khambatta and Rasna Pvt. Ltd, alleging trademark infringement and unauthorized franchise expansion after the termination of their 2018 agreement.

Justice Saurabh Banerjee granted an ex parte ad interim injunction, noting that continued use of the marks without valid authorization posed a risk of consumer confusion, especially as the brand pertains to edible goods.

The defendants are barred from using or promoting the marks until the next hearing in September 2025.
