A husband has moved the Delhi High Court seeking ₹100 crore compensation, a judicial investigation, and fixing of responsibility in connection with the death of his wife during violent disturbances in Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2025.
He alleged that the hotel authorities provided false assurances of safety and failed to follow evacuation procedures.
He also claimed that despite repeated distress calls, no assistance was extended by Indian officials. According to the petition, these lapses led to his wife’s fatal fall while attempting to escape.
The plea further seeks directions for improving India’s consular emergency response mechanisms.
