The Delhi High Court has introduced a “comprehensive and integrated” Action Plan to address pendency, particularly cases delayed for over 10, 20, or even 30 years.
Aligned with the Supreme Court’s Model Action Plan, the initiative focuses on eight key strategies: prioritising decade-old cases, conducting structured Case Management Hearings, equitable distribution, use of AI tools, removal of infructuous matters, promotion of ADR, stakeholder involvement, and regular progress tracking.
The plan will be executed in three phases - Preparatory (Mar–Jun 2025), Implementation (Jul 2025–Jun 2026) focusing on 20+ year-old cases, and Consolidation (Jun 2026–May 2027) for decade-old matters.
