The Delhi High Court has directed the Election Commission of India (ECI) to allot a common election symbol to the Akhil Bharatiya Jan Sangh (ABJS) for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Justice Mini Pushkarna observed that the party must submit the necessary application under the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order.
The Court noted that despite earlier internal disputes, including issues involving Sameer Singh Chandel, the party remains duly registered with the ECI since 1989.
ABJS had earlier been allotted the 'sitar' symbol for Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls.
