Delhi High Court Orders Amazon, Flipkart to Remove FMCG Goods Infringing Reliance, Jio Trademarks

The Delhi High Court has directed Amazon and Flipkart to take down FMCG products that violate Reliance and Jio trademarks.

The court passed a dynamic injunction, restraining 21 parties from manufacturing, promoting, or selling such infringing items.

Reliance Industries Ltd. filed the suit, alleging that counterfeit products with its branding were being sold online, risking consumer deception and public safety.

The Court agreed, emphasising the need for strict scrutiny in trademark infringement cases, especially when misuse of logos and trademarks can mislead customers and harm brand reputation. (Reliance Industries Limited v Pawan Kumar Gupta & Anr)
