The Delhi High Court has reaffirmed that the Nehru Place District Commercial Complex is a strict "No-vending" and "No-hawking" zone, directing the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to remove all unauthorized vendors immediately.
The Bench dismissed a petition from two vendors seeking to restrain their eviction, noting they had no legal right to operate there.
The Court emphasized that overcrowding poses severe security risks, referencing a 2021 fire incident.
The Court further imposed costs of ₹10,000 on the petitioners for repeatedly filing meritless claims, ordering a compliance report by May 21, 2026.
