The Delhi High Court ordered YouTuber Shyam Meera Singh to remove his video about the Isha Foundation, saying it was defamatory.
On February 24, 2025, Singh posted a video claiming that minors were being exploited at the ashram. The Isha Foundation, represented by Advocate Yajat Gulia, filed a defamation case under Order 39 Rules 1 & 2 of the CPC.
The Court ruled that Singh’s video, based on unverified claims, violated Article 21 (Right to Reputation).
Citing Subramanian Swamy v. Union of India (2016) case, it stressed balancing free speech with reputation protection.
Hence, the Court ordered the video’s removal and prohibited online sharing.
