The Delhi High Court has formed a committee to oversee the removal of encroachments and illegal constructions around Tughlaqabad Fort in South Delhi.
A Bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela directed that provisions for rehabilitating those displaced during the process be made.
The Court also ordered a survey to be conducted jointly by the Central and Delhi Governments, the Archaeological Survey of India, and the Municipal Corporation.
The survey is tasked with recommending a policy framework for the systematic removal of illegal constructions at the heritage site.
