The Delhi High Court has passed an ex parte interim injunction in favour of fimmaker Karan Johar granting protection to his personality rights.
As per the order, infringers are prohibited from using his name, the acronym 'Kjo', his likeness, image, voice or any other aspect of his personality.
Furthermore, the use of deepfakes, GIFs, morphed images and other such AI content for commercial gain has also been banned.
The petitioner had approached the court alleging that his name was being misused to raise funds. Previously, the High Court had granted similar protection to celebrities including Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
