The Delhi High Court has protected the personality rights of spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, restraining the creation and circulation of deepfakes and other unauthorised digital content.
The bench noted that such manipulated material could harm his reputation and spiritual authority, and granted an injunction against unknown defendants to prevent misuse of his identity.
The order covers AI-generated videos, voice clones, morphed images, and metaverse content.
The Court also allowed Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to implead additional websites or parties if new infringing material surfaces during the suit’s pendency.
