The Delhi High Court quashed an FIR against Prashant Pareek, who was accused of persistently staring at a female co-passenger during a flight from Indore to Delhi.
The complainant filed a written complaint upon landing, leading to the registration of an FIR under Section 509 of the Indian Penal Code at the IGI Airport police station. During court proceedings, both parties reached an amicable settlement, facilitated by well-wishers.
Justice Ravinder Dudeja noted that the complainant agreed to the settlement without any coercion and had no objection to quashing the FIR. The prosecution also did not oppose the quashing.
Accordingly, the Court quashed the FIR and related proceedings.
