Delhi High Court Refuses to Stay Trial in CM Rekha Gupta Assault Case

The Delhi High Court refused to stay trial court proceedings against two men accused of assaulting Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a public hearing in August 2025.

The Court rejected the stay application filed by the accused, who had challenged the framing of charges for attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy.

The Court observed that a stay is only warranted if there is a clear indication of a miscarriage of justice, which was not evident in this case.

Additionally, the Court ordered a forensic examination of the accused individuals' mobile phones to investigate potential links between them.
