The Delhi High Court has reprimanded the Central Government over the delay in providing a government residence to Arvind Kejriwal in his capacity as the National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party.
The Court remarked that the process cannot be based purely on the whims of the authorities and directed that the existing policy of allotment of government residences be brought before it as an affidavit.
The Bench also called for the Joint Secretary of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Director of the Directorate of Estates to be present before it virtually on the date of the next hearing.
