The Delhi High Court revised its sitting and lunch timings through a notification after the Supreme Court flagged the issue of judges taking unnecessary breaks and delays in judgments.
As per the new circular, High Court judges will now sit from 10:30 AM to 01:30 PM and from 02:30 PM to 04:30 PM, with a lunch break from 01:30 PM to 02:30 PM, which is extended by 15 minutes.
This change comes after the Supreme Court criticized a 3-year delay in a verdict by the Jharkhand High Court. Additionally, the Delhi High Court has declared the fourth Saturday a working day for its Registry.
