Delhi High Court Seeks ECI Response to Jan Sangh’s Fresh Plea for Common Election Symbol

The Delhi High Court has sought a response from the Election Commission of India (ECI) on a petition filed by the Akhil Bharatiya Jan Sangh seeking allotment of a common election symbol for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

Justice Mini Pushkarna directed the ECI to file its reply by October 9.

The party argued that it has a legitimate claim to the symbol, having contested elections earlier, and stated that its internal disputes have been resolved following the expulsion of a dissident member.
