Delhi High Court Sets Aside NHAI Notification on Recruitment of Lawyers Based on CLAT PG Score

The Delhi High Court has quashed a notification issued by the National Highways Authority of India, which contained a provision regarding the recruitment of lawyers on the basis of their Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) Post Graduate (PG) exam scores from 2022 onwards.

The Court noted that the CLAT PG examination is conducted to determine the candidate's scope of higher studies and cannot be used in employment matters.

The decision was given in the case of a PIL filed by Adv. Shannu Baghel, who moved to the Court against the notification released by NHAI for the recruitment of 44 Young Professionals (Legal) on the basis of the scores secured in CLAT 2022 and onwards.
