A division bench of the Delhi High Court has stayed a single-judge order that directed Amazon Technologies to pay ₹340 crores in damages to Lifestyle Equities for allegedly infringing the 'Beverly Hills Polo Club' trademark.
Justices C Hari Shankar and Ajay Digpaul granted the interim relief without requiring Amazon to make a pre-deposit, but required Amazon to comply with previous injunctions and provide an undertaking to pay the damages if the appeal fails.
The court clarified that the stay order would not influence the outcome of the appeal. The Court has remitted the case to the single judge for a full trial.
